Sup!

So I've thought about replicating some of /u/brulosopher 's exBEERiments for more data, with different recipes or whatever. You say I can just submit that stuff as a blog post here for posterity? How?

Can we set up email notifications for topics we've posted in?

Why was the confirmation link you sent out not an active link?

Apologies if this is all in the FAQ!

FAQ?  We need a FAQ.

You can absolutely do your own blog posts.  Hit your "my admin" page, and you'll see where to add a blog post.  I'll probably address this to make it more intuitive.

At the bottom of any thread is a "subscribe" link for email notifications.  I need to make this easier.

The link should have been a real link, I'll check to be sure I didn't screw up the encoding.

Thanks for the feedback, and welcome!

I got a link in my email, so I don't think its coding.  However there are quite a few email providers that strip links from unknown sources.  Or skunkfunk's email could be setup as text only by default which would break the href link.

I get links in other emails. Typically (I'm at the office) Outlook will ask if I want to activate any links. The entire email is just plain text.

And another thing! It does seem the blog function works, but whether or not I'm logged in it tells me "Sorry, you need to be logged in to use this. Click here..."

No complaints, just not sure where to put trivial minutia like this other than right here.

Welcome Skunkfunk!

There's a javascript:nicTemp(); section of the forum to report problems/suggestions for the site.

Edit - Well, speaking of site issues... That was supposed to be a link to the "Site Issues" section of the forum. Right here: javascript:nicTemp();at.php?catid=9

I found the section, but your javascript:nicTemp() I believe is hopelessly broken for the moment.

Hello all,

Found out about this site though /r/homebrewing. I'm 22 and a brand new home brewer, my first batch was bottled two nights ago and I'm currently brewing my second batch! Super stoked on this site and really looking forward to see where it goes!

Welcome!

As an FYI, the "you must be logged in" error is resolved.  I'm looking into the nicEdit javascript thing.

Hey Tracebusta,

You inspired me to write up a big post about it: http://mutedog.beer/blog/how-to-harvest-wild-yeast

Thanks, is there a better place in the forums where I should post things like this? Spamvertise maybe?

That would probably get you more visibility, but I'm never going to have a problem with a brewer sharing relevant information on brewing in any part of these forums.

Note that you are always welcomed to do a guest blog post here (from your "my admin" area) to cross promote your blog from the front page of this site.

Mutedog - Great post! I'm now racking my brain trying to figure out where I can get some fresh fruit that hasn't been sprayed down by anything. Thanks for writing it up.
