Gee whiz. Change. Arghh.

I found the 'scale to fit' button after I had finished my additions.

I also found out that I am used to a certain order of things as I make my additions and Mr. Brungard just re-ordered the page with different salts. Almost made a couple of mistakes with the additions but caught it in time.

I still haven't received the updated version. Is anyone else still waiting, or did I get left behind?

Have you made a donation in the past? I used my wife's paypal account and the email came to that address. Any chance your spam filter picked it off? I doubt he singled you out to not send it to.

Yep, I donated at the end of January and got version 2.12 on Feb 1. I've looked through my spam and all my other email folders and don't see anything. Do you think I should email him, or try to force myself to be patient for a few more days?

I think I'd send him an email.

I do not know if this is kosher to ask but does anyone know what the minimum donation is that you will receive the subscriber version of the software?  I donated but it would be nice to know if I should be expecting an email or not.

If this is not common information no big deal.  I love the product and wanted to donate anyways.

Thanks for the walk-throughs as well! Nice work!

I think it is a fine question...

But the answer is that I do not know. Not something I have discussed with Martin. Someone posted over Reddit that it will take a while to get all of the subscribers the new version, and I know a couple of people that have supposedly never received their spreadsheets after a donation. I am a bit frustrated that Martin has not setup a domain and emailing from something other than hotmail - I know my workplace bounces all hotmail emails.

Martin does have a day job, and with the spat of updates toward the end of the beta, as well as another bug-fix release yesterday that the backlog is probably bigger than he ever intended. I truly believe that he will accept any donation in exchange, but cannot confirm.

I just wanted to post to say that I already received the email and the subscriber file from Martin. That was quick.

That is great... Martin just posted to his Bru'n Water Facebook page...

"

NEW BRU'N WATER VERSION

The next version (3.2) of Bru'n Water has been issued and is slowly
being rolled out to our supporters. The limitations of creating and
emailing each program slow the process, but don't worry. If you have
provided at least $10 in support, you will be receiving this
substantially improved version. Visit the Bru'n Water page to see screen
shots of the program.

It was all made possible through your support!"

Just received my ugraded (v. 3.2) spreadsheet this weekend.. I was curious what kind of information is available with adding sparge water additions to the mash, and hardness minerals to the kettle.. (I apologize mchrispen if you are already going over this on your blog)

Reading the comment about sparge mineral additions in the mash, it says making the addition "can help depress mash pH and elevate mash calcium content to help remove oxalate from the wort. it also allows the brewer to achieve a reduced calcium content in the kettle which can be helpful in lager brewing."

Would this just be helpful in situations that you need to lower mash pH if it is too high? making the additions only in lager beers? or would it be worth experimenting with identical grain bills using both methods of mineral addition?

In regards to adding hardness minerals to the boil kettle, I was under the impression that target mash pH was used to get the "best" conversion of starches to sugars during the mash. How does adding minerals to a boil kettle affect mash pH if it never is in contact with grains?

I also thought the RA chart was kinda neat, its a bummer it was removed..
