So, Annie Johnson has been generous enough to agree to do a special Q&A session with BrewUnited.  I'm pretty certain that I can come up with plenty of questions to bore her out of her skull, but I thought this would be more fun as a community type thing.

So, for the next couple of days, I'll be taking suggestions for questions that you'd like to have answered.

Have at it!

Very cool!

* What would you say is your "secret" to brewing? That is- Did you have an epiphany at one point with a change that brought your beer to the next level? Or is it just a combination of doing everything right and being diligent about it?

* What is your favorite style to brew? Do you have a favorite recipe you can share with us?

* How much detail do you go into when planning a beer? Do you plan out Water Chemistry and everything?

* How do you control your fermentation temperature? (Because being HotY I'm just going to assume you are controlling fermentation.)

* Do you shake or oxygenate?

1) What do you think the single biggest mistake homebrewers make is?

2) What one single piece of advice would you to an consistent intermediate brewer who aspired to reach the next level?

3) Do you have any advice for time-constrained brewers who would like to make awesome beer, but can't brew frequently?

4a) Did you have a long-term plan to become the HOTY or win the Ninkasi?

4b) If so, can you share your plan?

5a) How many versions did you have to brew to finalize the winning recipe?

5b) How did the beer fare in other comps?

5c) Do you have any other beers that you feel are as good or better than that lager?

6) Could you brew a non-sour extract beer and win its category in a major regional comp? If not, do you think anyone could do it?

Tons of the questions I wanted to ask, have been already, especially about water chemistry and "Did you have an epiphany at one point with a change ..."

1)  On the epiphany type of question, if the answer to having an epiphany that you changed something, if it wasn't a method, was it a piece of equipment?  If so, what was it?

2)  If not a piece of equipment or tool, was there something you upgraded to that made a big difference in the quality of your brews?

3)  When you started entering competitions, did you adjust your brews based on the feedback alone, or other changes along with feedback?

4)  Batch or fly sparge?

5)  What would your go to yeast be?  If you could only use one strain for the next calendar year in making your beers, what is it?

6)  I don't know a lot about you, but can you tell us anything about your setup?

1.) Is Olan boring you with questions? Shame on you Olan!

2.) Do you primarily brew now with the PicoBrew? Is that an adjustment to small batch? Or was it a natural transition?

3.) Aging beers and being ready for competitions, are you working against a calendar? Or choosing beers that are matured and at peak before entering?
