It's a slow day, so I thought I'd fire up a "fun" topic.

What has been your best competition beer?  It could be score, best feedback, best prize, whatever.  Do you feel like you could improve it?

My mischief wheat usually gets decent, but not great scores in competition because it gets dinged for have too much hop character, but in crowd pleaser type comps it usually does really well. It's hoppy enough for IPA folks to like it, but smooth and drinkable enough for wheat beer and BMC fans to like it too.

My Old Ale that just scored a 41 is my best score, then four beers in the 35-37 range, and some low thirties.

The advice for the old ale was "this is a world class beer that was over carbonated"

BU comp doesn't have SWAG. BU Comp has SWG. Stuff Winners Get.

The overall winner is going to take home almost $1200 worth of bling.  Just sayin'.

The best score I ever got was 44.5 for my Hibiscus Cranberry Mead Lambic blend entered in Belgian Specialty. Good luck to anyone (including myself) replicating it:

Step 1) Make Hibiscus Cranberry Mead, age 1.5 years.
Step 2) Make lambic using club lambic culture, age 1 year.
Step 3) Blend to taste tested preferred ratio (in this case, 2:1 lambic:mead)
