How do you guys pull this off? I just destroyed a 52 quart cooler by trying to get the damn spigot off. Ended up puncturing a hole in it on the inside, and damaged/warped the inside plastic when pulling the spigot out. The thing wouldn't twist off in the first place.
It's now on its journey to the trash can soon. I'm either going to order another one to try again, or just go buy one at the store for more money.

Ordered another one for round 2. If that doesn't work, I'm just going to buy an SS Brewtech InfuSion. The question still stands though, how did you guys get that spigot off? I tried unscrewing the cap, wouldn't move. I can see if I had the world's biggest allen key that I might be able to do something, but the biggest one I have doesn't come close to it.

I don't even know what could have gone wrong. Have they started gluing the spigot?
My build was as easy as in this video, except that I didn't use enough thread tape, and instead of a "T" I used a male-male coupler and then screwed in a bazooka screen. Mine is the 38-quart Xtreme cooler. The spigot just unscrewed. I needed a couple extra flat washers and silicone washers.

Mine just unscrewed, too. I had to sort of break a seal when I did it, but that was all.

You guys make it sound like it was so easy. For me it was like cracking in to Ft. Knox. I demolished this thing to the point I had to order a new one. I'm serious, this is the last attempt and if it doesn't go well, I'm going full on electric/RIMS setup and doing BIAB for the competition beers.

New cooler arrives tomorrow. I'll take a pic of the inside to see if it's similar to the ones you guys have. What I didn't realize was that I can still use my other one, and just use some food grade safe silicone sealant to seal things up in that one. Might make it easy for the days where I need to have multiple batches going, and I can mash 2 batches at the same time.

Today I learned...I'm just an impatient moron. That took 5 seconds to do this new one, BUT I will say it was the post that mentioned breaking a seal that finally did it.
The new, next to the old spigot from the previous cooler...
