Went into World Market today with the intent of putting together a mixed sixer of Oktoberfests, maybe a pumpkin beer. They had a neato Oktoberfest display - glass boots, various sausages, some of those funny hats with the feathers, etc.

They also had a 20% off sale on beer. Neat, right?

I've never seen their shelves so empty! They had exactly one variety of Oktoberfest, I forget who by. So I gave up on that idea.

Luckily, they had one six pack of Hofbrau, so I picked that up. And it is delicious.

Also, we went to Target later, and my wife insisted I pick up something else... I decided to try the Goose Island Oktoberfest. Haven't tried it yet.

BeerAdvocate says Goose is an 83. Maybe it will be a solid choice?

They only had a very few reviews for the Hofbrau, scored a 77... I had to laugh.

The Goose Island is more of the Marzen amber, and is a bit sweeter than the Hofbrau. Still a very solid offering, IMO.
