Anyone know when they're doing the judging?

All categories should be done today, and Olan said he'd try to get results out for winners by the end of the day tomorrow.

Looks like the Malty division hit a snag. I know he is working as hard as possible to get everything done by Wednesday.

Judging for Balanced and Hoppy finished this past Sunday.  We have winners and scores, but I don't plan to publish anything before Malty is done.

Check your email - I sent out emails to all entrants this morning at around 1 AM CST.

Did you only send emails to the Balanced and Hoppy entrants?  I entered
Malty, and I don't see an email in my Inbox or Junk mail.

No, I sent out emails to everyone with an active entry - just like the other half dozen or so emails I have sent.

One note - some emails providers (such as Comcast) seem to block emails from this site before they ever get to your inbox.  You may want to try adding [email protected] to your trusted senders list.

Also, I'm putting together a post for the front page of the site to help keep people informed.

Hmm.. thats odd. I have gotten the other emails such as "Checking in on the 2015 BrewUnited Challenge" and the Shipping addresses email, but I didn't get this one.  I guess I will just wait for the front page post.  Thanks

Here is the entire email, if you care to see it.

As you are probably aware, this past weekend was scheduled as the Divisional judging for the 2015 BrewUnited Challenge.

The initial plan was to do the style category and Division judging over the weekend. We would then ship the three Division winners from their respective sites to Birmingham, Alabama, where the overall best of show judging would be held on Halloween weekend.

The good news is that judging is complete in both the Balanced and Hoppy Divisions. For a great behind the scenes look at the process (and challenges), check out this post by Balanced Division director, Matthew Chrispen, over at Accidentalis.com.

The bad news is that we've hit a couple of snags at the Malty Division, mostly related to an unexpected shortage of judges. Matt Del Fiacco, our Malty Division director, has put in some long hours to help push the judging through, and plans to have it wrapped either today (Tuesday the 27th) or tomorrow. If we can get that beer to Birmingham on time (via overnight delivery), we will do so and proceed with Best of Show judging as planned. However, we want to the beers a couple of days in cold storage to properly settle, so we may have to push judging back in order to give all beers a fair shake.

Unfortunately, this delay will push back shipment of our prizes and commemorative items, as well. I do still plan to get shipments going next week.

Regarding the announcement of category and Division winners, scores, judging/score sheets, and other prize drawings - please note that we want to be fair to everyone, and as such, we will not announce any winners until all judging is complete. All winners will be announced within 24 hours of the completion of judging (and the entering of the scores). At that time, we will also make your scores available for you to review within your BrewUnited account. Judging/score sheets themselves will be available within a week or so of the completion of judging - these are being shipped back to Birmingham, where they will be scanned in and attached to your account as downloadable PDF files. Finally, the various prizes that are not part of the published prize packs for the various Division winners will also be awarded after judging is complete.

Also, keep an eye out - it looks like there are still ten or so brewers in the running for one of the coveted "Homebrew Hero" titles. Good luck to those who undertook the extra challenge of submitting three beers for a chance at this recognition!

Thank you for your entry, and thank you for your patience.

Sincerely,

Olan Suddeth

Director, 2015 BrewUnited Challenge

Please remember - first off, we'll just be releasing winners.  Once we've had time to enter and verify, we'll post scores.  Judging sheets will be a good week later.

Thank you and all people involved in organizing/judging the challenge for your hard work!

I'm looking forward to those sheets a week or so from now to learn all that I did wrong.
