Well, I said something about Olan being delusional using 10oz of dry hops in 5 gals.

Just found out Maine beer uses 6 pounds per barrel in Dinner. I did the math...like 3 times because I was so flabbergasted.

That's the equivalent of A FULL POUND in 5 gallons.

Interested to hear how this tastes, Olan.

I think my highest might still be my BU Amber. That was something like 5oz. Maybe ive done a pale ale with 6 or so.

Fuck i need to make that Amber again. I just dont know if i kept good enough notes for how i toasted the pils malt. Also this isnt the time of year for me to be using pils since im boiling on the stove. I think i'd be okay (i get a pretty good boil going), but im not willing to risk it. My first pils was a cream corn bomb, and thats a flavor you never forget.

Heh. I'm at one pound total, but only 10 oz for dry hop.

Maybe next time, I need MOAR HOPZ!

Makes me wish I could ferment in a giant french press, just plunge down the hop matter at the end. Yield loss becomes a real issue for me on IPAs.

A lb/5G isn't a-typical out here.

For dryhop only? 3oz/gallon? That seems pretty dramatic.

1lb for 5 gallons for brewday + dryhop is maybe about right...

I'm with Ray. Those are normal "high hopping" amounts, to me.

Personally, I've not gone that high, but I see and taste them pretty frequently where the dry hop is that large, yes.

Well, this beer has been cold now for ~48 hours, and gelatin has been in for ~36. Keg it tonight? Wait another day or two?

This baby is kegged. Slightly undershot my OG (1.061, target was 1.063). OG was a fuzz high (1.015), but it *is* Conan, after all.

Good googly moogly, this thing smells SO. HOPPY.

Also... kegging is amazing. 30 minutes to keg, including cleaning, sanitizing, siphoning. Whoa.

I mean, I can pull a pint of it tonight, just to see. For these hop aromas, it would be almost criminal to not do so.
