Looks like I'm going to Lowe's tomorrow. I've figured out the mystery of disconnects, I understand how to hook everything up... and I'm missing a fitting.

Pretty much everything I have is barbed, which is stupid easy - worm clamp on the outside of the tube, cram the barb in there, tighten with a screwdriver.

Of course, my nice regulator has an NPT fitting on it. Which leaves me with no way to hook up the tube. And of course, I didn't even look at that until now.

On the bright side, I did get a Lowe's gift card from my in laws, and I have to make a run to the dump in the morning, anyway; I'll go grab a fitting from Lowe's (plus a pack of worm clamps, just to be sure).

I suppose that if this is the worst problem I have, I'll be golden.

I like my MFL connections on my disconnects and all. Im not sure it matters, but it makes me feel better.

When i bought my regulator it had an option to include all the fittings IIRC. I guess i didnt have to worry about making sure it had a barb on it.

Well, it doesn't really matter which one I might prefer. I have both, so I've gotta make it work. :)

Psh. Just you wait. Youre going to have 4+ taps eventually, just like the rest of us.

Were going to turn you into an alcoholic eventually, man. You might as well make your kegging more efficient.

Olan, I'm so glad you used the term worm clamp. Every time I use that phrase, be it at a LHBS, or at a home improvement store, I always get strange looks.

Went to Lowe's. Of course, they didn't have what I needed... but I thought they had something that would work. Put two fittings together.

Discovered that 1/4 MFL doesn't screw into a 1/4 normal female end, even though it started a half turn in the store.

So, amazon prime time.

Sigh.

1/4 MFL should thread into a 1/4 female flare. You might need one of those little plastic washer things though if it's a metal to metal connection.

Swivel nuts are expensive on amazon :(

I just ended up spending the $6.88 to get an MFL to barb fitting from a homebrew supply shop on Aamzon. Will finally keg this thing on Tuesday/Wednesday.

Got the fitting in... it works perfectly. Too busy to keg tonight, but I'll finally get this done Friday night.

I have to sanitize everything, then be sure I know what I'm doing. I want to give myself time for the inevitable screwups.

Hehe. I get it. I was pretty cautious on my first few (or more) batches in the kegs.

Though sanitizer isnt a big issue. Mix up a batch in the keg, shake, run it through your dispenser and youre good to go.

I have a keg full of sanitizer now as well that works great for cleaning lines. More kegs are always a good thing :)

I don't know how to reply with a quote, but Necropaw's statement about taking 10 minutes to keg a batch...this is why I'm going kegging ASAP.  Screw this bottling crap.
