My wife took the kids to the hands on museum in Tuscaloosa today, and stopped by a bottle shop while she was there. She knows how much I've enjoyed Sculpin in the past, so she picked me up a mixed sixer of IPAs/DIPAs. The contents:

3 x Ballast Point Sculpin (97 BA score)
Ballast Point Dorado (92 BA score)
Star Hill Brewery King of Hop (85 BA score)
Victory DirtWolf (95 BA score)

Now yeah, I know - BA scores are far from the end all, be all. But it's rare that they just LOVE a beer that I hate. If the general consensus is that a beer is amazing, I'll likely at least enjoy it.

I'd say that she hit this one out of the park!

You know what else is awesome about being me?

Drank a Sculpin in 15 minutes. Have a pleasant, lightheaded feeling now. Yay me.

Hey Olan - just had to comment on the subject line for this thread. My wife is also awesome! It is an interesting transformation that I've noticed since I started this crazy obsession not quite two years ago. It started with the tolerance that a mother has for her son's latest interest that will make big messes, that he won't clean up, and will be quickly replaced with something equally costly and messy. Then she noticed my sudden obsession with cleanliness, my incredible interest in anything/everything beer related,  and her attitude changed to a mildly positive curiosity. She now saves every article from the paper related to brewing. I hooked her with a dry mead last Christmas and most recently she came back from Nashville with a book on Vintage beers. She is not a beer drinker, but on Sunday she had a some Heady Topper and liked it. (she will likely deny that this ever happened) :-)

That is great, man.

I think I found a chink in her armor - she's tried a cider or two and enjoyed them. I may brew one for her.
