Hey guys,

About to mash in on a way overhopped IPA (gonna break a pound this time, I think).

I'm using the "yellow bitter" profile in Bru'n Water as my base. I've been pretty happy with this in IPAs before, but I wondered if I should change it up any. Any thoughts?

You could probably boost the sulfate another 50 ppm.

I thought about doing something like that. I've honestly never really gone above 100 before, but I think it is time.

Played with it a bit. I'm now looking at:

Calcium: 100.2
Magnesium: 13
Sodium: 24.3
Sulfate: 151.7
Chloride: 63.9

Thanks for the feedback.

Don't fear going above 100. I typically target 4 to 1 so4/cl ratio in hoppy styles.

So maybe drop the cl a bit? That would drop my na, too, which is higher than I've done before.

Thanks for the help, guys! I appreciate the reassurance when Bru'n Water tried to scare me with orange highlights.

My target pH was 5.31. I took my ten minute pH reading, chilled it, etc.

The reading? 5.31.

Wow.

Now I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. What will I screw up later?
