Hello All!

I'm a relatively new homebrewer here in Chicago.  I've got <10 batches under my belt but the bug has bit me and I'm brewing as much as I can.

Both r/homebrewing and HBT have been great sources of information and inspiration for me as I travel deeper down the Homebrewing rabbit hole.

Looking forward to all the new knowledge I can glean from here and hope that it doesn't push the old knowledge out of my head as soon as it comes in.  Cheers!

Welcome!  Chicago is my favorite big city, hands down.  Would love to find my way back up there soon (maybe even catch a Cubs game or two with them actually being competitive).

Welcome! Once the bug bits, it's hard to stop itching. Constantly trying to find more gear or tools to help me brew...it's a damn dark hole lol.

I'm only a few hours south of Chicago! Love it there, great city. God I miss good pizza.

homebrewdad if you ever go to a Cubs game, there is a condition I get notified.

Unsung, I'll be happy to do so.  I've been up twice - my wife gave me a baseball glove on my 30th bday; inside were tickets to a full series with the Cards.  I got to sit in the 5th row (behind the Cubs dugout), in the upper deck, and in the bleachers... and the Cubs won all three.  Glorious trip.

I took my oldest son up on a road trip a few years later.  We drove until the wee hours of the morning, crashed in some roach motel of a Knight's Inn in Indiana, then caught games on back to back days (one outfield, one bleachers).  Cubs also won both of those.  We hung out a bit, did Geno's, then drove all the way back home (got in around 3 AM Sunday morning).

Apparently, the Cubs do not believe in my good luck charm status; or, not enough to give me on-demand tickets.

They just don't see it.

Was a great trip with my son, too.  We painted our faces blue, white, and red on the Sunday gameday.  I should dig those pics up.
