Just figured I would share as I'm excited as all get out! Found a good deal on craigslist. Guy is selling 2 16 gallon kegs for $25 each. I'm getting one and have made contact with another local brewer through Reddit and he is picking the other one up. Then I think we are going to set up a time to hang out, drink a few homebrews and cut open our kegs!

After doing a bunch of looking I think I am going to add a valve to my keggle using the method in the following videos.

Looks like there will be 2 other redditors coming over this weekend and we will be cutting up 3 kegs and adding fittings. Many pictures and homebrews shall be consumed.

Dude, that sounds like a fun time.  Heck, that sounds like a potential blog type post!  Here's what we were doing, progress photos, finished results?

I think that could be valuable for other people considering keggles or wondering how to go about it.

Was actually thinking about doing that. May try to get a few videos of all of us too. I love building things and writing stuff like that up. Never been a good story teller but I can sure show people how to do things.

Well I didn't inspect the kegs I bought very well. Found this on the bottom of one last night. Have already called a welding shop and they can fix it and weld in my coupling for $30. $30 being their minimum to weld stainless.

Dang, dude. That sucks.

I saw this on Reddit, too. That's too bad.

Maybe you can find somebody who will weld that up?? I don't know. That's a long shot I guess.

Addressed that just above the picture. There's a local place that will do it for their minimum charge of $30 and even weld in the 1/2" NPT coupling.

Still having the get together and will cut up all 3 kegs. 2 will get silver soldered fittings and then I'll have this one welded up.
