I have a few bottles I have found werent sealed correctly when my daughter helped me bottle. My question is is it possible to open, put more priming sugar in, and recap to carbonate them? Thanks!

Yes, you can absolutely do this. You'll need to measure the priming sugar very carefully, and be ready with your capper - any CO2 already in suspension can cause gushing when you drop sugar in - due to the nucleation points, much like the mentos/diet coke thing.

Thanks!

Happy to help.

A little tip.
Put a quarter on the cap that you are removing. This should prevent it crimping. Then you can recap easily

How long have these been bottled? The biggest concern with doing this is whether there might still be unfermented priming sugars from when you bottled. If in doubt you could loosen the caps, leave them loosely placed over the crown of the bottle. You can put a piece of sanitized foil over the top. Then allow it to sit this way a few days to ensure that the first addition of priming sugar has fermented and off gassed. Then proceed with adding more sugar and re-cap. All this assuming it hasn't been very long in the bottle, of coarse.

Actually, about 10 months or so..

Hah. No unfermented sugars, then.
