Or keep home brew dad and make the dad spell out dudes and dames, like

> How about HomeBrewFamily
I'm pretty sure we ran through this one. It's either gone or we didn't like it or both.
To me it's odd...we're not after the family aspect as much as community/village type thing with brewers supporting other brewers in all ways possible.

I agree with testingapril. There are some good names out there, but there is a certain theme we are going for.

We did a dozen or more variations on this theme, or keeping HBD initials in some way. They were all summarily rejected. HomebrewDad in particular was not a fan of this strategy. He had an all or nothing perspective. "Burn the ships" became the mantra. Although I'm more of a "Damn the Torpedoes" kind of guy.

I voted against both, with the main reason being is that I wished "homebrew" was in the name and not just "brew".

What about HomeBrewUnity.com? Names keep popping into my head while at work.

this is a double edged sword, and some charter members fell on both sides, with the "brew" side winning out for domain name simplicity and availability.
Homebrew conveys better what we're doing, but is longer and harder to remember. Brew still conveys what we're trying to do, but is shorter, easier to say and remember.

I agree with testingapril, homebrew is a bit of a mouthful, especially when combined with other words. Not that that is a problem typically, but the site is geared towards homebrewers so I think that "Brew" would be sufficient.

Personally, I'd prefer the name to be something fermentation over anything "brew" because brew implies just beer in most peoples' minds. I'd like cider, mead, wine, whatever people to feel welcomed too.
However, I realize that fermentation is a mouthful and not every wants to type all that out.

I don't want to bring hyphens in. See above mentions of misspelling and lost traffic.

brew-for-me.com sounds like a contract homebrewer. 40/50 BJCP score or your money back!
I think Gary brings up a good point, brew does imply beer, and while it is the focus I'm not sure we are dealing with beer exclusively.
