Great! That will give me ample time to get settled into the new place and get my pipeline back up and running.

I'm guessing that a lot of our members have never heard that term...

Sweet, I have my first confirmed judge!

I also have two "yes" responses to requests to supply prizes.  Not a bad start.  :)

Very cool idea! Hopefully there are no issues shipping with shipping home brew across the border.

I'll check with Matt, who runs the reddit homebrewing competition.  I know that they have a Canadian category, but I wonder if they get Canadian entries to the US categories?

I can pull together a few judges down here with enough notice... Let me have a conversation. Might help to run up to the September Tasting Exam.

I absolutely plan to do that.  I expect that a good slice of the entrance fees will go to this.

Lol... I hadn't considered *what* to feed people, though pizza is probably a good choice.

More likely, I'll leave the exact menu up to the head steward at each of the three judging sites.  I'll just be the guy signing the checks.

That would be phenomenal.  Sending you a PM.

So... I now have judges for two of the three sites.  I have three sponsors who have indicated they will donate at least some smaller prizes, and I'm working on a "maybe" from another.  The BJCP has said they will sanction this thing.  I'm looking at late October for a competition date; I don't want to get too close to the holidays, but that should be plenty of time to get things organized (I hope).

Now, to name this thing, find more sponsors, and find one more judge - one willing to drink a lot of hoppy beers...

Is that a hint directed at me? Cuz with the Reddit homebrew comp in that timeframe, I don't think I can do it.
