I'm looking at adding a specific HLT to the setup.  Right now it's either a 5 gallon cooler, or a cheap aluminum kettle.  What do you guys use?

I use my old kettle (6 gallon stainless pot) as my hlt.  I use a big Coleman cooler for my mash tun.

A dedicated cooler for a HLT makes sense. I have a friend that uses one, converted to use a pump to transfer and an electric bucket heater with a thermo controller to heat the water overnight. The pump lets him transfer the water at the right temperature under the grains in the MLT. Works pretty well as he has dialed in the temperature losses over time.

The downside is the lack of direct heating.
