I snagged a preorder of WLP611 (Nordic yeast blend), and was planning on doing a Norwegian Farmhouse ale with it, complete with the Juniper infusion water.

Problem is, I live in an area of the country where Juniper doesn't grow super commonly. I see I can order dried Juniper branches for crafts and such, but I think I'd prefer fresh.

How the hell do I track something like this down? Are there any other options? I have a spruce in the backyard. We have other varieties of juniper (redcedar, rocky mountain juniper), but I've heard cedar in beer is really bad.

It would appear that everyone else is as ignorant of juniper as I am.  :/

An "important" part of Farmhouse brewing is brewing with what is available.

Make a tea of rocky mountain juniper and try.

What a great idea. I'll have one of those eventually. Thanks!

ingoogni is on point, but let me also say never use stuff from the craft store like juniper clippings.  All of those things are sprayed with preservatives and before that, who knows what pesticides or whatever they were sprayed with.  If you're going to use anything like this, make sure you source it from someplace you know isn't sprayed.
