I just published a new post on my blog (andybrews.com) that I'm quite proud of, the result of many hours of sleuthing. It turns out that the stone used for traditional malting floors also has an important role in the history of paleontology--learn more in my post!

Haha, nice one. Exactly the kind of stuff that could keep me busy for weeks.

It's so easy to fall down the rabbit hole of researching ingredients!

Wow, so I've been using malt that could contain microscopic bits of fossilized dinosaurs, huh?

Theoretically, I suppose that's the case! Although most correctly, the malt at least rested on rock that might have contained dinosaur bones. Either way, it's all cool.

My next brewing project is one using hops grown on soils derived from the rocks that contained the last dinosaur fossils (and the oldest hop fossils)...
