Guys, can you comment on convenient times?
I am hoping perhaps Thursday evening CDT this week might work. If this is too short notice, I can push it out.
Olan - this is your site - you ok with me hosting this? Don't want to overstep.
Topics:
1.) Guest writing: HBT, AHA/Zymurgy, EC Kraus, etc.
2.) NHC Judging Comments: update from Austin
3.) Reddit post expectations?
4.) Helping to push BrewUnited.com awareness after the change over...
Please suggest other topics... although we can be organic and let this flow if you prefer a more informal approach.
Mechanics - need to decide on Google+, Skype or some other chat system. I have some experience with some of the gaming voice apps as well. Will probably need at least a microphone and speakers - I might have a spare headset I can send, but wouldn't get anywhere in time for this one...

I'm out for Thursday, work all day and class all night.
I know quite a few people here have Google+ Accounts

I'm good for Thursday.
Hey, Mr. Chrispen, want to expound upon what the hell RA (residual alkalinity) is AND how it should impact your brew day????? I've read Water and Brungard. My head STILL spins when talking about RA.

lol - hot button. I actually find RA to be the proverbial squirrel chase... but have been working on a water series on it... just really don't want to throw stones at all. Palmer covers it in all it's confusing glory... and I am rereading the Kolbach papers as well as the Water book. Really it is a false leader for a given water profile without the malt grist and phosphate load, but still useful assuming a standard DI congress mash as a reference... think it as a comparative value of a given profile. Then move on and look at the bicarb and carbonate load and deal directly with it. I brew too many styles to really take real advantage of the 'real' RA application.
Not saying this properly... worn out from the Austin NHC judging - which we finished in record time!

It's our site, man. Host away, you don't need my permission.
I'll do my best to make it! I tend to not be available until 9:30-10:00 PM, CST.

Matt... Is there a better day and time?
Posted 34 days ago.
I may actually be able to make this Thursday, the professor may have cancelled the class. Will double check today and report back!

I guess we should coordinate our with our gmail accounts... Please add me to your circles - Matthew Chrispen, mchrispen (a) gmail dot com
Also please post if you are planning to attend and your best time available on Thurs. I think this week will be more of a dry run to work through any of the tech issues.

I would be able to join if it was next week, but I'm out for this week. Is Marshall planning to attend?
Posted 34 days ago.
I haven't asked Marshall directly - not sure how often he swings by.
Let's call tonite an informal experiment and work through any technical issues. I will try to setup sometime after 6:00 pm and get it rolling. Will post here where it is up (meaning the hangout :) ).

so this has been up for about 1 1/2 hours - nobody on. It's coming on 8:00 here and I need to run an errand quickly.
Will leave it up for a bit longer, but step away. I should hear anyone join. Otherwise, will try again another time with a more formal time laid out. Cheers!

Sorry, man, fading fast here. Long day with bottling and brewing. Someday I'll get a Google+ account too. Right now it's time for zzzzzzz's
Posted 34 days ago.
I hear ya... going to call it.
Will start another post with dates and times and see what shakes. Would like to do it a bit later anyway for folks...

Sorry. I'd love to participate, but I usually can't get on for this kind of thing until around 10:00 CST. I often have not even left my day job by 6:00.
