I'm looking for a recommendation on a total dissolved solids (TDS) meter.
It seems like I ought to be able to buy an cheap meter and it should be accurate for this task and reliable.
But is there something I am missing? Is a TDS meter similar to a pH meter where the sweetness of low price is soon replaced by the bitterness of regret?

I got a cheap one, this one specifically, and tested it against the pricey one at the brewery. Spot on, within the 1ppm range, which is acceptable IMO for most applications.

Also, chino, I could just send you mine.

Okay, I'll bite.
What's the practical application for homebrewing?

No idea what Chino is planning but I use it to make sure my RO water is, you know, RO. Since I buy it from stores.

Yeah, I'm planning to use it to test RO water for "RO-ness".

Matt, thanks. Ordered. It must be coming from China on a junk because the estimated delivery is like the third week of March.

Yeah it's totally from China, effective though!
