I am writing this as a "first impression". For all I know, maybe this was only this batch. I will try again at local bar once they turn the keg over to confirm.
All I can say is diacetyl-bomb. It is disgusting this year. In the past it has been decent, but all I get is popcorn butter this year. I had to ask my bartender to dump it and pour me a Guinness.
Has anyone else tried it yet and have had a different experience?

It's decent enough usually that you can grab one at a bar and not be disappointed. This was rare for me with them. I'm hoping it was just this batch (maybe they rushed fermentation to get it out the door for the first day of spring - which in my opinion is idiotic. It's Summer Ale, all this early release crap is pissing me off)

When Sam Adams first released it's Summer Ale a few years back it was pretty good. The last couple of years it has been pretty eh.... I don't know and cannot guess what they changed (mostly because it really doesn't interest me that much to figure it out), but it really has lost much of it's appeal.

Old thread, but...
I bought a six pack of this Summer Ale a couple of weeks back because it was on clearance at Target, of all places.
Good: no diacetyl whatsoever.
Bad: Lightstruck.
If it wasn't for the skunkiness, I might have liked it. I'll give it a try again if it's available again in 2016, though I'll buy it as soon as it gets to a local store.
