They must ALSO be members of the AHA?

I mean, how does that make them guests?  I was expecting to register to go with my wife, but only I am a member.  I thought she would go as my guest, but apparently that's not going to work?  The word "guest" really doesn't mean "guest" at all does it?

I read the link.  That is what it seems like.  That's really stupid of them.  The only reason I could see that they would do that is for some kind of legal reason.  In some areas of the country that are still dry or limited, you have to be a member of a "private club" in order to drink.  I know there was some kind of legal issue that almost kept the NHC out of California this year but it was changed just in time.  Maybe the change was to allow the serving of homebrew at "private club" functions?

I was thinking it should be listed more as "paired registration".  It seems like the point is to make sure that if they have to go to a lottery system that if *I* get selected my wife does, too.  This "guest" language is confusing, though.

It's not really a guest, so much as you won't be split up in the random selection (both in or both out).

Do you think I have time to get my wife a +1 household membership in time to register for the event?

"Do you think I have time to get my wife a +1 household membership in time to register for the event?'

Last time I registered, it was nearly instantaneous, so probably, yeah.

> nearly instantaneous,

She got me the membership for christmas with a membership gift card.  That was a whole rigamarole.  I can see that the regular way is somewhat more streamlined.  Thanks, Chino.  You're connected with AHA in some way?
