Last night, I toasted my oats for the oatmeal stout I'm brewing this weekend. As I spread them in my pan prior to sticking them in the oven, I noticed a lone weevil.
Men, no big deal. It was ONE weevil. I picked him out, and what the hey... this is preboil, anyway.
I did let the LHBS know, however. One weevil is nothing. I probably would have been less impressed to open a bag with hundreds of them.

I have weevils, I really do. Logically, I know that all of my grains have been exposed to insects. Seeing one wriggle in the pan is a different story.

I've been lucky enough to not see any bugs in my grain. Whether I've been lucky enough to not have any in my grains, that's something I don't know. Not sure I'd want to at this point.

A good question is why you are buying flaked oats from a LHBS instead of just using Quaker. Unless it has to do with supporting your LHBS.
